That's hilarious! I'm hoping Tim Duncan can join the Detroit Pistons.
Uh if we (I'm a Texan) did leave the union, Tim Duncan would stay with the Spurs. We'd just add more teams to the TBA (Texas Basketball Association).
On the real, I found this rant by an NPRer annoying and inaccurate. Perry came off like an idiot when he made those comments for sure. But the article completely dismisses the fact that Texas was a Democratic state until the 80s/90s. We still had a Democratic governor in the 90s! And the urban areas voted in lock step for Obama.
If you have ever found yourself wondering why Texans get so worked up about their identity that post should explain it - no one likes to be so ridiculously simplified and mocked on a regular basis.

Thanks John. I thought it was pretty clever ;) Even funnier that it took me less than 5 seconds to think that up b/c having a strong place based identity entails a high level of indoctrination.
