Spike the Record/Illini Basketball Madness

First off, note the "official" time for tonight's happy hour has been edited to 8:00PM to better reflect when most people will want to show up... not that times are much more than a guideline.. Anyways, on to the point of this post..




tomorrow night is the first night of Illini Basketball practice, and as usual they are having a big event at the Assembly Hall to celebrate... in addition, they are combining this with the Illinois Volleyball game against Minnesota (Illinois is ranked #10, Minnesota #6) to try and set the national record for attendance of a college volleyball match. They distributed 120,000 tickets and the first 16,618 to show up get in... doors open at 5:30 and I have a stack of 9 extra tickets if anyone is interested... I'm probably going to head over about 4:30-5:00 to stand in line. If anyone wants to go to this, it should be a lot of fun, the volleyball team is very good, and then after the match they will do a scrimmage with the men's and also women's basketball teams, along with a dunk contest and other similar events.
