Thursday Night Happy Hour & Tailgate this Saturday

THURSDAY:
Happy Hour!!!

Location: Jupiters (39 E. Main Street, Champaign)
Time: The usual, we'll say 9ish?

SATURDAY:
Illinois is hosting Southern Illinois University in football this Saturday, kickoff is at 6:30 PM.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the concept of "tailgating", people traditionally show up hours early to games and cook food/hangout/drink in the parking lots around stadiums. Because people would often set out food on the lowered rear gate of their truck, this practice is refered to as "tailgating". Weather permitting, there will be tens of thousands of people around the stadium and campus Saturday drinking, playing games, grilling food, and hanging out all day long, and we're going to join them.

We are not, however, going to do this:

For our purposes, it means we're going to have a grill and a table set up somewhere in front of TBH this Saturday afternoon, and have a pot luck. So bring a dish to share and we'll hang out for a few hours Saturday afternoon. If you are going to be stuck in the lab all day long, that's fine, come downstairs for a bit during your study break.

If you are interested in attending the football game, leave a comment below or email me ( gunnerso(at)illinois(dot)edu ) and I'll try and point you in the right direction.

To Recap:

Who: You, and any of your friends
What: Tailgating before the Illinois football game
Where: In front of TBH
When: 1:00PM-6:00PM
Why: Why not?

Bring something to share, I'll bring a few packages of hot dogs and some hamburger. If possible try and RSVP to me (comment below or email me at: gunnerso(at)illinois(dot)edu) in order to get a somwhat accurate head count for food. If you don't RSVP, feel free to show up anyways.

DISCLAIMER ON ALCOHOL: Football game days means pretty much nonexistent enforcement of open container laws, meaning that if you are of legal age, welcome to bring alcohol to consume in a responsible manner. The Student Planning Organization is not providing alcohol, and you are responsible for what you bring, who drinks it, and how much you drink...

IN CASE OF RAIN: There is a good chance its going to rain at least at some point during the day on saturday. In case of a brief storm shower we will evacuate into the atrium for a little while (alcohol will have to stay outside). In case of likely sustained bad weather all afternoon long, the tailgate will be canceled and we'll try again later in the year.
