In 2011, percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani launched the Nakatani Gong Orchestra (N.G.O.), a five person group of local performers under the direction of Nakatani, capable of simultaneously striking or bowing ten gongs. N.G.O. is Nakatani's next step in exploring the physical and aural qualities of gongs, through which he's able to produce a rich and multi-layered cross-vibrational sound ebbing from the deepest frequency pools.
Bio: Tatsuya Nakatani is a contemporary percussionist, originally from Osaka, Japan. He performs creative music around the world. He has created a totally unique sound which defies category or genre. He utilizes the drum set, bowed gongs, cymbals, singing bowls and metal objects.
