PROTECT JESHUAN MANNING-CARTER!!
This petition is aimed at dropping the charge of aggravated resistance of a peace officer against Jeshaun Manning-Carter. For those of you who are unaware of this case, the charge stems from Carter and his friend Kiwane Carrington's encounter with the Champaign Police on October 9th, 2009. Kiwane was shot dead by Champaign Police Chief R.T. Finney, in which Carter suffered the trauma of witnessing this event.
There is no credible testimony in Jeshaun's resistance of Chief Finney, who was in fact not in uniform when the event happened. In addition, it is not clear whether Chief Finney informed the boys that he was Champaign police.
